Rookie QB Max Hall has struggled as the starter and Derek Anderson could be reinserted under center.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt is contemplating another quarterback change, but this time, he might be going back in time.

Rookie Max Hall has been ineffective in three starts, and Whisenhunt is considering replacing him with Derek Anderson, who started the first four games.

The coach said Monday he had not made a decision and wanted his staff to go over video of the game with the players before a decision was made.

In his last two games, Hall has completed 12 of 32 passes for 107 yards, three interceptions and only one touchdown. He admitted Monday he's never seen such complicated defenses.

"We're not getting what we need out of the quarterback position right now," Whisenhunt said. "Obviously, you can't have two turnovers that lead to touchdowns and two other interceptions. We're going to take a hard look at it."

The problem is the coaches have been looking hard at the position, but they have few options. A free agent available at this time of year isn't going to help. The trade deadline has passed.

The only thing the Cardinals haven't tried is starting rookie John Skelton, the third quarterback. But he's behind Hall for a reason.

With a game in Minnesota this week, Whisenhunt likely will go back to Anderson, a veteran who has experience playing in noisy places.
