Cardinals: Week 10 News & Notes
--Through the first half of the season, running back/kick returner LaRod Stephens-Howling should be the team's leading contender for the Pro Bowl. He's returned two kicks for touchdowns and does an excellent job as a gunner on punt coverage.
"It's those guys in front of me," Stephens-Howling said. "You have a lot of confidence going into it when the guys in front of you want to go to the end zone just as much as you do."
--The Cardinals were in terrible field position all afternoon against the Vikings. They rarely managed to get it flipped. They started three possessions inside their 8, including two at the 1-yard line. Their average start was at the 17. "When you're playing an opponent like (the Vikings) field position is so important," Whisenhunt said, "and we just could never get it righted."
--Nose tackle Bryan Robinson was amazed at how hard Brett Favre still throws the ball. "You can actually hear that ball whistling by when he throws," Robinson said.
--QB Derek Anderson was efficient, although he did miss open receivers. Anderson completed 15 of 26 passes for 179 yards and touchdown. It was his first start since week four.
--OLB Clark Haggans is expected to play this Sunday against Seattle after missing two games with a groin pull.
--DE Kenny Iwebema likely has a torn ACL, which would end his season. The team has some depth at the position. Alan Branch is the first backup, and nose tackle Bryan Robinson can play end, too.
--RB Beanie Wells might have lost his starting position after missing two key days of practice last week. Tim Hightower started and Wells had just one carry for a minus-2 yards.
--WR Larry Fitzgerald had his first 100-yard receiving game of the season. Fitzgerald caught 7 passes for 107 yards.
