Cardinals: Week 12 Report Card

Now in last place in the NFC West and on a six-game losing streak, the Cardinals continue to grade out poorly in all facets.

PASSING OFFENSE: D -- Derek Anderson completed just 16 of 35 passes but he was the victim of at least two drops. Anderson isn't getting much help but his continued struggles with accuracy are an issue. The protection was not good, either.

RUSHING OFFENSE: F -- The Cardinals rushed only 11 times for 13 yards. The 49ers defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage, and the Cardinals couldn't stick with the run after they fell behind in the second half.

PASSING DEFENSE: F -- 49ers quarterback Troy Smith completed just 11 of 23 for 129 yards. But he was effective when he needed to be. He had a 38-yard touchdown pass and was rarely under pressure.

RUSHING DEFENSE: F -- The Cardinals front was dominated by the 49ers, who rushed for 261 yards on 47 carries, a 5.6-yard average. The 49ers line blew open holes, and the Cardinals tackling has been sloppy.

SPECIAL TEAMS: D -- The coverage teams did not perform up to the usual high standard. An 83-yard kick return by LaRod Stephens-Howling was called back because of holding. Jay Feely made both his field goal attempts, however.

COACHING: F -- Ken Whisenhunt isn't yet questioning his team's effort, at least not publicly. But the Cardinals haven't been competitive since losing to the Vikings nearly a month ago. There is a lack of talent throughout the roster, but the coaching staff seems unable to inspire what players the team does have.
