PASSING OFFENSE: F -- Derek Anderson completed just seven of 20 passes before being benched. Max Hall and John Skelton fared little better. The Cardinals completed only 11 of 29 passes for 148 yards with two interceptions, four sacks and a passer rating of 26.2.
RUSHING OFFENSE: A -- The Cardinals rushed 19 times for 105 yards, a 5.5-yard average. If anything, coach Ken Whisenhunt made a mistake by passing too much. The run game was working and he went away from it on occasion.
PASS DEFENSE: B -- The Cardinals did a better job than they have in weeks, but then the Rams aren't very good at receiver. But the Cardinals' secondary held up and the pass rush occasionally produced some pressure.
RUSH DEFENSE: B -- The Rams rushed for 119 yards but it took them 36 attempts to do it. The Cardinals allowed only one long run, but that was a 27-yard touchdown. In all, a solid job.
SPECIAL TEAMS: D -- The only thing that saved the group from a failing grade is that Jay Feely made both field-goal attempts. The team had 12 men on the field for a field-goal block that produced a first down for the Rams and then nearly repeated the error. They had only 10 men on the field for a punt return.
COACHING: C -- At least the team played hard, which is an improvement over the past three weeks. The defense had intensity and passion for the first time in weeks. The Cardinals, however, are lost on offense. They didn't convert a third down until the fourth quarter and were 1-of-11 for the game.
