Whisenhunt wants ball in Peterson's hands

Rookie CB Patrick Peterson declined a chance to return an interception Sunday, but coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't agree with the decision.

--Coach Ken Whisenhunt thought cornerback Patrick Peterson should have tried to return an interception at the end of the first half. At the urging of strong safety Adrian Wilson, Peterson took a knee. It was the last play of the half, and Whisenhunt wanted to see what Peterson can do with the ball against offensive players.

"It's something you learn from," Whisenhunt said. Peterson was just following the advice of Wilson, however.

--RB Beanie Wells didn't play last Sunday because of a hamstring injury. The Cardinals didn't want to risk it. "If he goes in there and goes three plays and then he's out for three of four weeks, it doesn't do us any good,"

Whisenhunt said. "It was that kind of situation." --The Cardinals have lost six consecutive NFC West games and nine consecutive road games. They haven't won on the road, or in the division, since beating the Rams in the 2010 season opener.

--There is no love lost between the Seahawks and Cardinals. There was considerable chippiness last Sunday between Seattle's offensive line and the Cardinals defensive unit. "They were doing the traditional stuff that they do here, and then when they go to Arizona they are usually soft as cotton," end Darnell Dockett said. "So today they wanted to play hard in front of their home crowd so we knew what to expect. They did what they had to do to win the game. Can't take that from them."

--OLB Clark Haggans doesn't think he is subject to suspension, despite recent reports that he is one of eight players subject to discipline for allegedly violating the NFL's conduct policy during the lockout. Haggans' agent, Jeff Sperbeck, said his client was cited for speeding while rushing home for a family emergency. Sperbeck said neither nor Haggans have had any contact from NFL officials about possible discipline.
