--The Cardinals are a few plays away from having a winning record. Coach Ken Whisenhunt has made the point occasionally during the team's four-game losing streak. On Monday, however, it seemed Whisenhunt was tired of the lament.
"I don't think you can feel good about anything when you are where are, record-wise," he said. "We looked at everything. You can sit here and say what you want to say, say it's a couple plays away here, whatever, it doesn't matter. We haven't won the games. We have to find a way to win some games."
--Defensive end Vonnie Holliday got his first extended look at the 49ers during the bye, and he was impressed.
"I don't know what happened in the past; those guys look strong," Holliday said. "They believe. Those guys have bought it to this new coach and coaching staff. They are playing like a confident group."
