STRATEGY AND PERSONNEL
The bye week allowed the Cardinals to get healthier, but it won't result in any drastic lineup changes.
Brandon Keith could return to his starting spot at left tackle. Or the Cardinals could stick with Jeremy Bridges. It doesn't make much of a difference.
The coaches continue to talk about playing outside linebackers O'Brien Schofield and Sam Acho more, but they haven't followed through on it.
The biggest problem address by the offense in the time off is its failures in two-minute situations. The Cardinals think they have a good package of plays in those situations but mistakes -- fumbles, interceptions and penalties -- have cost them dearly.
SERIES HISTORY: 58th regular-season meeting. Steelers lead series, 31-23-3. This week's game is the first between the teams since Super bowl XLIII in Tampa, Fla. The Steelers won, 27-23. The last regular-season matchup was in 2007, Ken Whisenhunt's first season in Arizona. The Cardinals won, 21-14. All of the Cardinals' points came in the second half of that game, which was played at University of Phoenix Stadium.
BY THE NUMBERS: 5 -- Number of interceptions Kevin Kolb has thrown in the past three games.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We ain't got nothing to do with what San Francisco is doing. San Francisco is doing what they got to do to win ball games, but our focus right here is trying to play better as a team; ain't worrying about what they're doing." DE Darnell Dockett, on his 1-4 Cardinals and the 5-1 49ers.
