Porter's job could be in jeopardy in Arizona

There could be a changing of the guard at least one of the Cardinals' two starting outside linebackers spots.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt has said he is evaluating every position, and making a change at right outside linebacker seems the most likely place to start.

Starter Joey Porter hasn't produced, and the Cardinals have two youngsters, Sam Acho and O'Brien Schofield, they need to develop.

Acho and Schofield played more last Sunday against the Steelers than they have all season, including three of the four possessions in the fourth quarter. They each played both outside linebacker spots.

Porter, 34, seems the most likely starter to hit the bench. He doesn't have pass rush skills any longer and has made no impact on games.

Acho, a fourth-round pick this season, has picked up the defensive schemes faster than Schofield, a fourth-round pick in 2010.

Schofield, however, has better pass rush skills, so that could give him the edge.

The other starting outside linebacker, Clark Haggans, is also 34, but he's played fairly well through most of the season.

He missed a couple of sack opportunities on Ben Roethlisberger last week, but unlike Porter, Haggans is at least getting to the quarterback. He also has been better against the run.
