Kolb Saga Continues

The debate on who should be the Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback has been ongoing for some time now, but that debate is becoming more heated than ever due to yet another disappointing performance by Kevin Kolb.
In his first opportunity to prove he deserves to be the Cardinals' starting signal caller, Kolb connected on just one of four attempts and was intercepted on his first pass of the year. To make matters worse, Kolb suffered an all too familiar fate when he left the game with a rib injury on just his sixth play from scrimmage.
Like he has several times during his short career with the Cardinals, John Skelton came off the bench and provided the team with a spark. Skelton completed 4-of-6 passes for 32 yards and looked much more comfortable and polished than Kolb.
Arizona made a splash by trading for Kolb prior to last season and extended a lucrative multi-year contract to the since underwhelming quarterback. Kolb has yet to live up to expectations while Skelton continues to overachieve – while developing into a fan and locker room favorite.
The Kolb saga is nothing new, but this is arguably the most devastating turn of events for the once proclaimed franchise quarterback in the desert. Meanwhile, Skelton continues to benefit from Kolb's misfortunes and took another step towards displacing Kolb as the team's 2012 starter.
