The New England Patriots are adding speedster running back Jeff Demps to the roster, acquiring the Olympic silver medalist, a league source confirmed.
The former University of Florida running back will make a formal announcement later this afternoon.

Demps, 22, also drew interest from the Tampa Bay Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets.
Demps earned a silver medal in the London Olympics on the 400-meter relay team.
Demps is an undersized running back, but could factor in as a kick returner and a receiver out of the backfield.
For his career with the Gators, he has 2,951 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns with one kickoff return for a touchdown.
He rushed for 569 yards and six touchdowns last season.
