San Diego Chargers defensive lneman Garrett Brown has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy. He's eligible to return to the Chargers' active roster on Oct. 1 following their game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brown was signed by the Chargers two years ago after gong undrafted out of the University of Minnesota.

He has yet to play in an actual NFL regular-season game.
