San Diego has addressed the offensive line during the off-season but they can't be done. They still desparetely need a franchise left tackle and more help on the offensive front.

San Diego Chargers
2013 draft picks:
1st round (11), 2 (45), 3(76), 4(110), 5(145), 6(179), 7(221)

Mike McCoy takes over for Norv Turner in San Diego. He inherits a pretty talented club that always seemed to underachieve.

However, they do need revamp practically their entire offensive front. Quarterback Phillip Rivers hasn’t played up to his standards the last season or two. Much of that blame could be pointed towards the play of the line. Three new OLs are headed to the Chargers in offensive tackle King Dunlap and guards Chad Rinehart and Richard Orhnberger. No longer with San Diego is tackle Jared Gaither and guard Louis Vasquez.

The Chargers have never made up for the loss of Darren Sproles a few seasons ago but Danny Woodhead should give a third down spark to the San Diego offense.

Defensively, the Chargers are getting some veteran help in the back end in cornerbacks Antoine Cason and Derek Cox.

Draft Needs
1) Offensive Tackle
The Chargers have to draft an offensive tackle that can come in and start this season. It’s a draft with three franchise left tackles in Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson. It’s likely they are all gone by the time San Diego is up at the No. 11 spot. Certainly there’s a chance Johnson could slide to their spot or the Chargers can try and move up further in the first round to ensure they land one of these guys. If they are all gone San Diego could likely draft one of the top two guards in Jonathan Cooper or Chance Warmack and go o-tackle with their second selection. Terron Armstead could be had with that pick.

2) Offensive Guard
This all depends on what happens with the tackle position and that first spot. Where they are it’s a close call on whether Johnson will be there. If they do get him they can address guard with the second pick. If none of the trio is there they can get a super guard and draft their tackle in the next round.

With seven picks in this draft expect the Chargers to draft three to four offensive linemen.

3) Linebacker
If guard/tackle wasn’t such a pressing need the Chargers could certainly draft an outstanding rush linebacker with the first round pick. In fact, they could still do it and then get their offensive linemen beginning with their second round pick. San Diego will have an opportunity to pick up an inside ‘backer in the mid-to-late rounds.

4) Wide Receiver
The Chargers could a little lighting in their wide receiver corps. It’s a good, deep year at this position and San Diego could find some speed to add to the perimeter.

5) Running Back
The Bolts used a No. 1 pick on Ryan Matthews. While he has had his moments over his first two seasons he has battled injuries more than playing time. Too much pressure has fallen to Rivers. It’s time to find another running back, one that San Diego can count on.
