The Arizona Cardinals picked up some major depth for the defensive front seven this offseason, but…
Coach's Take On Thaddeus Coleman
Riley Murray: Thaddeus is a very disciplined player. I have realized that he is a great student of the game, a very hard worker and whatever he puts his mind to he is going to dedicate himself to accomplish that goal.
DW: What is the strongest part of Coleman's game?
RM: Thaddeus does a lot of work in the film room. He is always studying opponents very well and does all of the external things very well. That is his strongest part.
DW: What are some things that Thaddeus needs to work on to become successful in the NFL?
RM: On the level that he is on now, it is hard to pick any errors because he works so hard on all of it. He is a real good pass blocker, a good run blocker, but if I had to pick out one thing I would have to say that he needs to improve his footwork.
DW: What kind of guy is Thaddeus off of the field?
RM: He is a great kid. He has never had any problems with the law or anything. Thaddeus is a good church going guy, he works with the kids in the community, and he worked well with the students and faculty here at Mississippi Valley State. He is the type of leader that leads by example.
DW: How would you describe Coleman's leadership ability?
RM: Thad had the ability to be able to make other players work harder. He had one motto: "you need to go full speed all of the time". His bases his leadership on his actions. When he says something, he is going to talk from his heard, and he will never ask anyone to do anything that they he wouldn't do himself.
DW: What is your favorite memory of Thaddeus?
RM: When Thaddeus came to me he was a tight end and one day we talked to him about moving to offensive tackle. The look that he gave us was like "are you all crazy?". It was funny to me, but he never gave us any problems about the move. It just threw him off and his expression was great. That's one of the things that really got me.
DW: How do you think Coleman will be able to adjust to the NFL caliber talent he will be facing?
RM: I have been working with him for the last 4-5 years and there is one thing that he is going to do and that is out work everybody. He is going to study hard, absorb his surroundings, talk to the veterans, watch them and using what he sees. You will not see any lineman over there out work Thaddeus.
