Scout.com’s NFL Insider Adam Caplan takes time out of his busy schedule and catches up with AZRedReport.com. He takes on one fan’s questions regarding the possibility of an uncapped year, the rumors that the Cardinals could sign a veteran offensive tackle and how Steve Breaston will become more than a return specialist.

cgolden36: I wouldn't mind knowing how organizations are bracing themselves for the looming 2010 and 2011 seasons. Are they trying to structure contracts in hopes of 'labor peace' or are they loading up in case of an uncapped year? Is the possibility of an uncapped year and changes in free agency something that a team can prepare for or are there too many variables to manage right now?

Adam Caplan: Teams don't seem to be too concerned with the lack of a CBA from talking to agents. Dallas, though, seemed to have more of a sense of urgency with it since they signed a lot of their younger players recently to extensions.

cgolden36: We've all heard about the possibility of the Cardinals signing a veteran offensive tackle who is cut by another team during camp, but is there a guy that they have thier eyes on already and if Brandon Keith looks good in camp/preseason, could they use that cap room to lock up someone else?

AC: It's a little early to see who teams might release but Arizona only has one veteran backup offensive lineman and that's Elton Brown who did show some versatility. But some personnel evaluators around the league see him more of an interior lineman than playing outside. So the front office probably could use another versatile offensive lineman who is capable of playing either tackle spot. Keith has some upside but he has to show the team that he's ready to contribute in training camp and considering he was a last round selection, he certainly won't be expected to contribute much this year.

cgolden36: If Breaston wins the #3 position and starts to look like a legit NFL receiver, will they start to limit him on punt and kickoff returns so that he can focus on learning the offense and maximizing his potential? Very few recievers end up doing both.

AC: It's certainly a concern but keep in mind they drafted Early Doucet to handle the No. 3/slot role. That's where scouts saw him playing at the NFL level. Breaston has put together a good off-season but keep in mind none of those practices were in pads so it's very hard to properly evaluate him just yet.
