Warner Officially Staying in the Desert

The Arizona Cardinals and veteran QB Kurt Warner finally put their differences aside and agreed on a two-year contract.

Official terms have not been released but Warner is expected to receive $23 million over two years, including $19 million in guaranteed money.

In a stark contrast to earlier reports, Warner will cash in with a $15 million signing bonus and have base salaries of $4 million in 2009 and 2010.

Warner and agent Mark Bartelstein had initially insisted the guaranteed money be spread out over two seasons. The move ensures that Warner won't be released if he decides on playing beyond 2009.
