According to the Cardinals' official website, AZCardinals.com, rookie running back Beanie Wells suffered what appears to be a mild ankle sprain during his first day of training camp on Saturday.

"His MRI revealed a right ankle sprain but at this point it doesn’t appear serious, which is obviously good news," said head coach Ken Whisenhunt. "In terms of missing time, it’s tough to say now but we should have a better idea in the coming days."

Wells and the Cardinals agreed to a five-year deal worth $11.1 million, including a little more than $6 million in guaranteed money on Friday night. He was the team's first-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, 31st overall.
