In three years as head coach, Ken Whisenhunt has proven to have a good feel for the mood of his team…
The Bright Side: Packers @ Cardinals
Even die-hard USC fans couldn't make any arguments not to pull Leinart and give Brian St. Pierre a shot in the fourth quarter. Leinart registered 96 yards and went for 13/21. The Packers defense compiled a pair of picks against Leinart, one of which was returned for a touchdown (Charles Woodson, another Heisman trophy recipient).
St. Pierre threw just four passes but managed to throw a touchdown pass to Larry Fitzgerald. The end zone celebration marked the seventh-year player's first career touchdown. St. Pierre posted 12 yards, a TD and a pick.
Also through the air, Anquan Boldin's 38 yards were enough to record his second-straight 1,000-yard season.
On the ground, the Cardinals rushed for 48 yards.
On the defensive front, Arizona rested the majority of its defensive starters. Unknowns like Hamza Abdullah, Rashad Johnson and Greg Toler made the most of the opportunity. The three defensive backs lead the team in tackles. Defensive end Jason Banks put away the first sack of his career.
On the injury front, the official word from the Cardinals' Darren Urban is that both Anquan Boldin (knee and ankle) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (knee) both say they are OK.
