The Arizona Cardinals continue to move up and down the draft board on Saturday, securing another solid group of draftees. The Cardinals are in the process of finalizing their 2010 draft class, adding another pass-rushing specialist and a developmental quarterback thus far. Meet the newest additions headed to Arizona inside.

With the deepest draft in years, a number of NFL teams are drastically improving thanks to this year’s crop of prospects. As a whole, the NFC West looks to have been extremely successful up to this point and the Arizona Cardinals are leading the pack. The Cardinals have already addressed nearly every major area of need and have secured excellent value each step along the way. Arizona is in the process of wrapping up the 2010 draft with an active third day.

Putting the Cardinals’ newest additions on hold, the rest of the division is also enjoying a successful draft. The St. Louis Rams finally got their franchise quarterback in Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford and help along the offensive line. Rodger Saffold of Indiana was one of the fastest rising prospects in this year’s draft and will help protect Bradford for years to come. Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers focused on fortifying their offensive line in effort to help QB Alex Smith realize his potential.

Like Arizona, the Seattle Seahawks have taken part in several trades and continually moved around the draft board. The Seahawks acquired both Leon Washington from the New York Jets and LenDale White from the Tennessee Titans. Seattle also picked up a cornerstone left tackle prospect in Russell Okung from Oklahoma St. Texas safety Earl Thomas and Notre Dame wideout Golden Tate round out the headlining draftees for the Seahawks.

Back to the Cardinals, where they followed up on highly regarded picks in the first two rounds with another solid performance on Saturday. Arizona nabbed Wisconsin OLB O'Brien Schofield with pick No. 130 after moving down from the 123rd pick. The Cardinals also received pick No. 201 in the deal. Schofield suffered a knee injury during Senior Bowl week and could have been selected as high as Round 2 if not for the setback.

The most shocking move of the day by the Cards’ front office up to this point came when they cut ties with CB Bryant McFadden after just one season in the desert. Arizona shipped McFadden and pick No. 195 back to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for the 155th overall pick. General manager Rod Graves used that pick on a developmental quarterback for the future, John Skelton from Fordham. Skelton (6-foot-5, 243 pounds) has one of the strongest arms in the draft and enters the NFL in a similar mold as Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco.
