Monty Beisel signed a two-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals in March 2007 after appearing in eight games on a one-year deal in the 2006 season.
Beisel is a viable backup and special teams performer.
2007
Beisel started in two games and contributed in all 16. Beisel earned his third highest career total with 42 tackles.
2006
Beisel trained with the New England Patriots at camp in 2006, but was cut and picked up by the Cardinals immediately after. A window opened for Beisel when Gerald Hayes was sidelined with an injury. In his first start of the season he posted a team high of eight tackles, one tackle for a loss and one quarterback pressure.
2005
Started in six of 15 games for the Patriots. He put 47 tackles, a pass deflection and a sack on the boards. Beisel earned his first career playoff start.
2004
As an inside linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, Beisel mounted nine starts in 11 games and set a career-high 54 tackles, 2.5 sacks and an interception.
2003
Beisel enjoyed a productive season on special teams. He ranked second on the Chiefs with 22 special teams stops, a forced fumble and a partially blocked punt.
2002
Beisel took the field for all 16 games on special teams for Kansas City. He tied for second on the team with 15 special teams stops.
2001
Beisel was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round (107th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 games on special teams and 13 games on defense where he recorded 19 tackles. |
